In the latest edition of Swimming World Magazine, they named the Top 12 World Masters Swimmers of 2006. They hail from five different countries and range in age from 29-91. Congratulations to GRAHAM JOHNSTON, 75, UNITED STATES…Masters of South Texas.
Fast Friday this week. 10 K swimmers have a 3 K swim instead. In addition to a weekly long swim, distance people will now need to add calf raises and back extensions twice a week. This weekly dryland work is necessary to ward off cramps in your calves and feet as well provide strength in your middle back. These two areas tend to be the 2 most common trouble spots for those who have swam the 10 K in the past. If you send me either an over goal time (3 hrs 15 mins) or a pace goal (1:45 per 100), I can give you the projected finish time or pace you need to hold, so that you can achieve the goals you want.
I need to continue to confirm 10 K swimmers because of limited pool space and lining up timers. Please review and let me know of any changes/additions to be done. If you have someone to time you, let me know as well. One person can time 2-3 people very easily.
