Weekly Updates
10K, open water season, pool closures, and more …
The following swimmers are signed up for Saturday, June 23 for the 10 K swim. We need 7 more timers. Are there any corrections to the list? Any more takers at another date/time? Swimmers should be working on their calf raises. Just because you did it once when I asked you to, doesn’t mean that you are done. Three times a week, you will be happy later that you did them… Next week, all 10 K swimmers should plan a workout opportunity to swim for 1 1/2 hours. Bring your liquids and gels. Stop every 20 minutes and practice eating/drinking. Make note how each tasted, digested, and helped you maintain your energy levels. Sometime between May 26-June 10, you will need to find a pool and the time to swim somewhere between 6-7 K. That will be your last long swim. Unless you feel that you need the longer training, the remaining 2-3 weeks will be focused on pace using 400-800’s in doing so.
