Schedule changes, 10K training advice, and more
The Boerne Lake Swim has been canceled. The City of Boerne has called it off due to the weather delays of their improvements for the area around the lake. I have all your checks with me and can return them or tear them up.
Hope everyone enjoyed our Indy 500 practice on Monday. Great job for everyone who came on Wednesday and participated in our open water swim at practice. For those who missed it, we will repeat it once more on Wednesday, June 6.
10 K swimmers should be doing their last big swim sometime between June 1-15, depending on when your scheduled swim is set for. Don’t swim it less than 2 weeks out of your swim date, to allow recovery time. I will bring the performance drink powder mixes with me on this Friday at each practice. You need to supply the cup and cold water.
Blossom will be set up for lessons on Friday, because of the Monday holiday, so noon Masters will be in the Davis pool. There is adult lap swimming from 10:00-3:45, for those individuals that want to do their long swim only. The pool will also be set up for LCM on Saturday from 12:00-3:00 ($3 pool fee).
RunGearRun is having a FREE nutrition tasting day at their store on Saturday 8:00-12:00. Anyone can stop by and taste all of the different drinks from a lot of different vendors at one time…it will be worth the trip. They will have some gel samples as well. It is that time of season for better hydration. This is really a great event all of us would benefit from and it is FREE.
Incarnate Word workouts will begin on Monday, June 4. Practices are scheduled for Mon-Thu 6:30-7:30 p.m.
The WAVE swim team has moved their summer training hours at the JCC. For members only, you may come in from 7:30-9:00 p.m. Mon-Thur and swim on your own. The pool is closed, in the evenings only, on June 4th and 18th for summer league swim meets starting at 4:30 p.m.
