It’s Here! Our new payment system can now be accessed through the website to make monthly payments. Check it out on our Club Dues page and follow the simple directions. I encourage everyone to give this a shot and send feedback as far as any problems that you incurred along the path. The more people we have giving it a run, the more we can tweak the program. If you normally have me run credit card charges, please log in here for the month of January. Charges were not run in the anticipation of getting this up and running. I will still take personal checks as well as cash, if you prefer those types of payments.
The 3000/6000 yard Postal Championships results are in, and MOST finished Number One in the country for the combined team 6000 yard scores! Great job by everyone who challenged themselves with these swims. Every swimmer who entered, scored points for our team. A few notable swims were:

Looking back on a Fantastic 2007 year, MOST won Five National Postals with the Large Team One Hour, the 5 K and 10 K Postal Swims, and the 6000 Yard Challenge. We finished 1st place at the SCY Zones and 3rd Place at LCM Nationals. Ten people completed that Alcatraz swim with the first place overall swimmer. Graham has now equaled the number of Most World Records ever set, and hopes to be the sole owner of that feat shortly. We had 2 qualifiers for Hawaiian Ironman, with several other IronMan finishers. Lots of other bragging rights come from our Grand Canyon hikers, All-American swimmers, marathon runners, Senior Games swimmers and track participants, National Record setters, extreme road racers, ultra-triathletes, open water competitors, and athletes raising money and awareness for numerous causes.
We need to thank a lot of people who have helped us reach those goals and accomplishments along the way. Thank you very much to NIKE as our 2005-2007 team sponsor, D & J Sports for their continued outfitting of our team, to RunGearRun for their merchandise discounts and support of our team activities, to TrophyCraft for their assistance with our team shirts and embroidery needs, to Vitamin Water in supplying their product at our team events, to HomeSwimmer for their T-shirt Sponsorships and to the NEISD pools for allowing us the time and lanes for our postal events outside of normal training hours. I hope that all of you will support these businesses for their belief in our team.
On February 9th, the High School Regionals Finals will be at the Davis pool starting at 2:00 p.m., and we ask that our team take on the timing responsibilities on Saturday. This meet always showcases some of the best swimming in the state of Texas. Not only is this is our annual way to give back to the pool and school district for their support of us and our swim events, but it creates a community of support within the sport and shows the high school swimmers, that there is life in the pool beyond high school and college.
Congrats to Todd Erickson for finishing his One Hour Swim already, bettering his distance by 180 yards! Best wishes to him as he had knee replacement surgery on Wednesday. Just got a message from his wife, he’s awake and doing well, and looking for a cheeseburger.
Coach Susan was fortunate enough to have her workouts submitted and published by Swimmers World with the theme of training for the One Hour Swim for their January issue.
