Weekly Updates
Open Water Practice … Water Polo … Danskin … 10K Postal … Jan and Nancy …
Each Saturday, we are offering up a lake swim at Boerne City Lake, starting from the boat ramp at 7:00 a.m. This is open to anyone who wishes to enjoy a beautiful start to your weekend. Many jump on their bikes and go for a ride, or head into town for breakfast afterwards.
Water Polo Nationals went well for the Gator Gals. It was a fun filled and polo playing weekend in Northern California. The ladies ended up in 6th Place, enjoyed great weather, a trip to the beach, a BART ride into San Francisco, a window view of the sunset over the bay at dinner, live jazz, watched the USA Men’s National Team beat the Australian’s National Team, and experienced an earth quake! Couldn’t ask for anything more than that in 4 days.
Now that our season will slow down a bit, we offer an invitation to any of the ladies who are interested in playing water polo, to join us on Sundays for practice at the 410/Culebra pool from 8:00-10:00 a.m.
Congratulations to all our Danskin finishers. We had quite a few guest swimmers over the past month as they prepared to compete. We hope that many of you will remain with us as you train for the next one.
Next Sunday, June 22, will be our 10 K Postal swim at Blossom starting at 8:00 a.m. Please arrive at 7:45 to allow time to dress, set up your drinks/food, and stretch. Notice, I didn’t say warm-up! You can spend the first 1000 doing that. Be sure to rest and drink lots of water this week. I need confirmation from everyone who plans to swim, that you are coming, and if you have someone who will time for you.
Our prayers go out to Jan Miller and Nancy Fields who both have had to deal with the recent loss of their mothers.
Catch ya’ in the water,
Susan
