No Davis Workouts This Week … Long Course Meets … Hey, hey, hey, they swam 10K (and are about to swim 5K) … Keep flying … Olympic Trials … Bring bread to Boerne

 IMPORTANT NOTICE:  Davis pool workouts are canceled this week due to summer league championship meets being held each day.  You can swim in the morning with David TTh at 5:30 a.m., the JCC TWTh 6:00 or 8:30 a.m. (if not a member, only one visit per week for $7 drop-in), Friday at the JCC 8:30 only, or at the JCC TWTh 5:30 p.m. at no charge. You can also swim in the Walker pool on your own anytime between 10:00-2:00 in the lap lanes.

2008 USMS Long Course Nationals  Don’t wait any longer if you plan to go to LCM Nationals.  The early deadline has passed, so be sure to enter now online.

Congratulations to our 10 K swimmers!  Claire Gregg, Shelly Probber, Judy Paukert, Glenn Garcia and Randall Carver.  5 K Swimmers will hit the pool on Sunday, July 13th 8:00 a.m. in the Walker pool.  Still openings for the brave.

Two more Flyers have completed the summer challenge of a 500 Fly.  Great Job by Chris Mayhew and Julie Eakle.  We had a great time last Friday with 20 x 25 @ :10 rest of Butterfly set.  Our Lord of the Flyers (Henry Halff) commented he would have rather just swum the 500 straight, too painful stopping and starting [in the middle of a Long Course pool, he adds].  Yeah Right!  But, everyone completed it under 15 minutes, so I know you’re ready to take it to the next step.  Just let me know when I can time you.

Be sure to check out the Olympic Trials all this week on NBC in the evening or their live webcast each day.

The City of Boerne has now implemented a entry charge to go to the lake.  $5 during the week and $8 on the weekend.  I plan to speak to them about a reduced rate for our Saturday swims.  I will let you know how that goes.  In the meantime, I will send out information on how we can carpool in to save some money.  More info coming this Thursday.
