Inspiration! … The MOST Butternuts … 10K Winding Down … LCM Zones … Gator Gals

I have been inspired this week by so many of you! Our team has had to face many challenges of late. Some have lost a parent. Some have swam the 5 K Postal. You’ve had a child, had a child married, or had a child have a child. Many have stepped up and participated in the ButterNut Challenge. You have bounced back from recent setbacks to your training and some excelled beyond your wildest dreams in the pool, road or track. We have had injuries, surgeries, pregnancies, competitions, car accidents, job changes, parent issues and more. I was so excited by everything that you have done, that I had to run down two quotes about facing adversity, which are listed below. Please know that I am so proud of everything that you have faced, accomplished, and still dream to do!

Tuesday was great for our ButterNut swims. At noon we had Chad Simmons, Don Morley , John Roberts and Claire Gregg all complete 500 meters of Fly! Chad is now our official fastest person with a time of 8:05. And Claire is our oldest finisher at 67. (She does a shout out to De Ette. Step it up!) Also completing their swims were Kat Boyer and Judy Paukert. We have now passed the sponsoring team for total swimmers and have the most participants in the country!

Our last two 10 K swimmers will be starting their swim at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the Walker pool. We will be having a LCM workout for the noon group because of that, so I can keep an eye on you. Also, remember this Friday will be our last workout for the summer at this location.

We have 25 swimmers that will be swimming at The Woodlands this weekend for LCM Zones. Best of luck to our team! Can’t wait to watch our 200 Flyers with all the work they’ve put in this summer. For timelines, psych sheets, and athlete entries, please go to this link to verify that your info is correct. Keep in mind that distance events require a positive check-in. (Oh, never mind…Joe Mc isn’t coming) I will be sending out a relay list shortly for your review. Let me know if you are unable to attend either Sat/Sun. (No Sunday-Chad/Steve/Todd/Chris M). Jim and Andrea are each looking for a roommate, let me know if you wish to share with either one. No, guys, you can’t share with Andrea…

Congratulations to our Gator Gals water polo team who competed this past weekend in Houston against some very tough high school girl’s teams. They turn right around and will be playing this weekend in the Texas State Games.

Catch ya’ in the water,Susan

Weekly Inspiration: I gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which I must stop and look fear in the face…I say to myself, I’ve lived through this and can take the next thing that comes along.

Weekly Health Tip: Surround yourself with courageous people. There will always be people who say never. Find people who support and believe in you.
