Weekly Updates
Gatormania 3000 - Be There or Be Square … Good News from LC Nationals … Technique Workouts Coming Up.
A big shout out to all team members, and anyone that you may know, who can put one arm in front of the other in 10 feet of water: We would love to see you take on the challenge of an open water swim! And what better way to show off your flailing swim skills and aqua-phobia than in front of 50 of your best friends? Please check out our nifty entry form and send it off before you think better of it. When printing out the entry form, print one page, then re-insert the paper to copy on the back to make it a 2 sided form. Very cool looking! Entries should be sent off this weekend or handed into Susan on Monday. The 3000, 1500, 800, and 400 swims will be at Boerne Lake on August 23. Take on the challenge, challenge someone else, or swim along side your kids and make it a family affair. Hope to see everyone out there!
And on that note, we will need volunteers to help it all run smoothly. I will need 3 people to help with check-in from 6:45-9:00 a.m. You get to stand up the whole time and take people’s money who were foolish enough to sign up on the day, or draw a line through those brave souls who signed up ahead of time, all the while you will hand out our beautiful event swim caps/shirts. Multi-tasking at it’s finest! I also need 2 people who will have the honor of drawing numbers on people’s bodies. Legible handwriting will be tested beforehand. We someone who has a boat, with an electric motor, that can hang out on the lake, enjoy the view as the swimmers go by, and be willing to be johnnie-on-the-spot if we should need any immediate assistance on the lake. If I can please call upon our swimming doc’s to be a med advisor who can haul a med kit up to the lake. You will be in charge of all boo-boos such as stubbed toes from rocks, eye injuries from knocked off goggles created from the fist flying starts, and amputations that were a result of the alligators. Throw in a few more volunteer bodies to help with finish times, and we should be all set to go. All volunteers get to swim for FREE!
Our National swimmers are having an awesome time in cool, green, beautiful Oregon.
