Gatormania 3000 Wrapup
Saturday, August 30th, 2008
Misty in the early morning, glass on the lake, and a complete rainbow anchored on the far shore, all added up to an incredible start for the 2008 Gatormania 3000. With over 50 participants, we kicked off the annual event in style. We had plenty of swimmers in all four contested events which included the 3000, 1500, 800 and 400 meter distances. Our overall winners were Louis DeLeon and Ronda Nisman. There were lots of close races all the way down to our youngest swimmers, Jonathan Reichman (11), Ian Howe (10) and Ben Caudill (9), who battled it out in the 400 swim. Thank you to all our swimmers who raised close to $800 to be donated towards Cervical Cancer awareness.
Photos of the event are in our Flickr group pool. For complete age group winner listings…. (more…)

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008This just in from Doug Church:
Welcome Amber Anthony, age 42, to the Butternuts!! On July 15th, she swam 500 meters in 12:49.3! I don’t know if Amber is going to LCNats but if so, she can join those who are planning to demonstrate just how Nutty we can be!! Way to go Amber!!!! Now, it’s back to the pool to find a Nasti who is just deranged enough to be talked into a little 500 M swim using that most beautiful of all strokes!!! Keep ‘flyin’!!! Doug
