Masters of South Texas

Congratulations to all our (83) swimmers on their One Hour Challenge Swims.  We had 56 people who have swum the entire hour Fly.  Included in that number are 32 swimmers over 3000 yards.  Our youngest swimmer, Ryan at age 18, completed over 4100 yards!

USMS would like for everyone to enter online for the One Hour Swim Challenge.  Deadline is February 10th.  You need a copy of your results and use the 500 splits from your swim.  To enter online, please go to https://www.clubassistant.com/club/meet_information.cfm?c=1308&smid=1761.  You will need your 2010 USMS registration number and a credit card.  As you go through the system, enter the name of the pool you swam in; all three of our training pools are on record.  You will need the email address of the person who timed for you.  Susan – Aquatex101@aol.com, or Tiitta – tiittaelias@yahoo.com or Elaine – elaineswims4fun@sbcglobal.net.  There is a box near the end to add in a note.  Be sure to add in there that you swam it ALL FLY.  I will be submitting the official split sheets for everyone and that will be in my team report.

Some of you may have noticed that our web site has been down for the last few days. A certain program at Yahoo! became so interested in MOST (well, who wouldn’t be) that it tried to index our site for its seach engine as fast as it possibly could. As the result, our web hosting server was brought to its knees, and our site was shut down. I’ve taken steps to put the brakes on Mr. Yahoo!’s enthusiasm and have convinced the good folks who host our site to give us another chance. I’m hoping that the problem won’t arise again.

As some may know we have a group on the photo-sharing  web site, Flickr. The link below will get you to a crude set of visual aids to working with Flickr and getting photos into our group’s photo pool.

We now have a group on Flickr, the photo sharing site. It’s main use is to show off our lean, sculptured, swimmers’ bodies. However, it supports discussions and has other features. Looking is as easy as going to the group’s web page. (more…)
